How to Create a WhatsApp Group – Step by Step
📱 On Your Smartphone (iOS & Android)
- Open WhatsApp and go to the Chats tab.
- Tap the new chat icon (pencil or chat bubble) in the top corner.
- Select "New Group".
- Add at least one contact as the first member, then tap Next.
- Enter a group name (up to 100 characters) and optionally choose a group icon.
- Tap "Create Group" – done!
💻 On Desktop (WhatsApp Web / Windows)
- Open web.whatsapp.com or the WhatsApp Desktop app.
- Click the new chat icon in the top left.
- Select "New Group" and follow the same steps.
Tip: Use an invite link instead of adding individually
Generate a group link and share it – people can join themselves without you having to add each one manually.

- Scroll to "Invite via Link".
- Choose Copy, Show QR Code or Share directly.

In large groups, set messaging to "Admins Only" to prevent spam.

If unwanted people join, reset the invite link – the old one becomes invalid instantly.
